West Horndon Art Group

West Horndon Art Group. This thriving Essex art club is definitely THE place for aspiring artists of all genres and media to paint and enhance their artistic skills in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

West Horndon Art Group have art exhibitions, excursions, gallery visits, en plein air painting, and social events. There are frequent painting tutorials with art tutors to help you improve, and supportive members to encourage you, so why not join us? For 2016 we have three special painting demonstrations and workshops with professional tutors.
We meet to paint on Wednesday and Saturday mornings from 10am to 12.30pm, and Tuesday mornings from 10.15am until 1.45pm at West Horndon Village Hall, Thorndon Avenue, West Horndon, Essex CM13 3TP. It is a 3 minute drive from the A127 and just a 6 minute walk from the c2c railway station.

West Horndon Art Group in Essex, was founded in 1992 by Mrs Iris Kelly when a group of six artists from West Horndon met in her garden. By September of that year the group had grown and it moved to the committee room in the Village Hall.
Current Membership
Over the years this Essex art group has gone from strength to strength. It now has around 60 active Members meeting twice a week in West Horndon Village Hall. We paint on either Wednesday or Saturday mornings, or both, from 10.00 – 12.30 pm.
We have been tutored by Frederick Noakes and Jean Willis B.A.(Hons), (Fine Arts) M.Ed.(Art Ed.) our Art Director. Other members tutor on occasions. We usually have two or three tutored sessions per month, and in 2016 we will have three special tutorials given by visiting professional artists.
If you are looking for a tutor to help you personally, an artist to tutor a group, someone to run a studio workshop, give a demonstration, speak on the subject of fine art, or you wish to commission a painting, we may be able help. Please e-mail your requirements to our Secretary.
