Leigh Art Trail

A not for profit, volunteer run, community organisation, showcasing the work of local contemporary artists & designers

The Leigh Art Trail Association is a non-profit making members organisation established to promote the artistic talents of its member artists, guests and the artistic talents of the wider Leigh-on-Sea community through the events that it holds. LAT receives no public funding and is self financing through members subscription fees, commissions on members sales and the generous donation of our sponsor Southend Adult Community College (SACC).

Originally set up by a community of high-spirited artists wanting to provide an outlet for their work locally, the Leigh Art Trail was the first of its kind in the East of England. Because of the large number and high quality of professional artists in the town, many people now refer to Leigh on Sea as the St. Ives of the East. This year’s trail wouldn’t have taken place if not for the many, many hours of organisation from the voluntary Directors; Bronwyn Oldham, Simon Feather, Tricia North and Emma Bell. We would also like to extend a special thank you to fellow LAT Director David Osborn, from Clouders Accountants and David Elcock from Leigh Road Baptist Church. The event is much loved by both residents and tourists, and the Leigh Art Trail is always proud to support artistic activity that continues to thrive locally. Next year will be the 20th year of the Trail and we hope to make it very special. If you would like to get involved from sponsorship to taking part, please contact us at leigharttrail@hotmail.co.uk.
